A community organisation promoting the protection,

enjoyment and understanding of coastal, estuarine and

marine environments on the far south coast of NSW.

The Nature Coast Marine Group:

  • is a community organisation established to protect the marine environment in the Eurobodalla area on the NSW south coast

  • has a vision of effective protection of the marine environment, backed by broad community support

  • helps people to learn about the marine environment by organizing enjoyable outings to rock shelves, rocky reefs, beaches, mangrove forests and other marine environments

  • provides opportunities for snorkelling, diving, kayaking, whale watching and other activities

  • contributes to scientific research through marine life surveys done by snorkelling, scuba diving and other methods

  • advocates for protection of the environment through contacts with decision-makers, submissions to consultations and participation in meetings

  • promotes local media coverage of the marine environment, highlighting the Nature Coast’s amazing marine life and the need for marine conservation

  • introduces children to their marine environment, in cooperation with local schools, the Eurobodalla Shire Council and the Marine Park Authority

  • organises talks and film screenings

  • supports the Batemans Marine Park and works constructively with Marine Park management and other relevant state and local bodies

  • is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act.
